at Zia Queenbees Farm & Field Institute in the majestic southern Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico at the kiss of the forests, where Pecos, Santa Fe and Carson National Forests merge. Instructors- Melanie Kirby & Mark Spitzig of ZQB, which specializes in longevity-based breeding protocol will share introductory concepts on selection of breeders, the rearing calendar, setting up and maintaining cell-builders, establishing mating nucs and zones, drone support, the art of grafting, harvesting and care of queens. Graduation bee beards offered. Students will take home a manual, grafting tool, queen marking pen, JzBz cell cups, cages and racks and live cocoons.
