Conference: September 25-27, 2026
Workshop: September 28-29, 2026
Floyd, Virginia, USA
The 4th Learning from the Bees conference aims to bridge diverse beekeeping communities and provide a welcoming space for those interested in exploring innovative, alternative, and regenerative approaches to beekeeping practices. Set in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, this intimate gathering invites beekeepers, landowners, naturalists, and bee lovers alike to deepen their connection to bees and nature, celebrate Indigenous wisdom, and learn novel regenerative land stewardship practices that can be applied through local action to improve pollinator health and habitat around the world.
Attendees will experience a rich program, from keynotes and panels to interactive breakout sessions and farm-to-table menus, during a fun, informative, immersive weekend, interspersed with music, art, and storytelling, with opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the program too. One envisioned outcome is to establish and foster a network of bee-centric apiculturists in the Americas, who can share best practices, observations, resources, and support.
An optional two-day workshop, Establishing Sanctuary, invites 30 individuals to engage more deeply with bees and explore holistic approaches to apiculture and ecological stewardship, in the context of Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary’s spectacular 40-acre landscape.
