2023 Bee School will be held on February 25th, 2023 at Horizon Convention Center in Muncie, Indiana. We have two Plenary speakers, Jerry Hayes and Scott McArt. Jerry has spent most of his adult life around beekeeping.  He was a Research Technician at the USDA/ARS Baton Rouge Bee Lab, Dadant and Sons Regional Manager, Dadant and Sons New Product Development, and AR Manager, Chief of the Apiary Section for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Monsanto Honey Bee Health Lead and Vice-President of Vita Bee Health North America.  Mr. Hayes was the Classroom Q&A Column of the American Bee Journal for almost 40 years and authored the ‘Classroom’ Book.  Jerry is now Editor of Bee Culture magazine.

Scott McArt, an assistant professor of pollinator health, helps run the Dyce Lab for Honey Bee Studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He is particularly interested in scientific research that can inform management decisions by beekeepers, farmers, regulatory agencies, and the public. Research in the McArt lab focuses on the impact of pesticides, pathogens, and management practices on the health of honey bees and wild pollinators.

Along with our Plenary Speakers, sessions and discussions will be held for beekeepers with any level of skill, experience or ability.  Other sessions include Tricks and Tips for Installing Packages, All About Drones, How to Grow Your Business Using Social Media, Maximize Your Honey Production and Beekeeping Gadgets and Hacks.

Along with a great program, we’ll have our raffle, live auction and silent auction again.  Many vendors will be on-hand with a variety of  displays and supplies.

The cost to attend is the same as it’s been for several years now: $50 for members, $60 for non-members and all registrations include lunch.  Our goal is to make it affordable for our beekeepers to attend.

We will hold our Beginning Class again this year during the same time and the cost has not changed either: $55 for members, $65 for non-members and all registrations include lunch.
