The 2018 Fall Conference of the Alabama Beekeepers Association will be held at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center in Clanton.  Directions and a map will be on the Alabama Beekeepers website at www.AlabamaBeekeepers.com.  The addresses and exit information of motels in the Clanton area will also be on the website.

Bill Evans, Vice President and our program chairman this year, has arranged for some excellent speakers:  Dr. Jim Tew, who will open and close our program, is a Honey Bee Specialist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.  He is retired as an entomologist with Ohio State University and is the former Alabama State Apiarist.  Jim is always an informative and entertaining speaker.   Dr. Geoff Williams and Dr. Brittney Goodrich with Auburn University will be on the program along with Dr. Steve Payne with the Louisiana Beekeepers Association.  In addition to these speakers we will have several Alabama Beekeepers teaching a session or doing workshops.    In all, you will have your choice of 44 total sessions over the two-day meeting.

We will have several vendors at the meeting, including five of the major beekeeping supply vendors: Kelley Beekeeping, Rossman Apiaries, Mann Lake, Dadant & Sons and Brushy Mountain Bee Farm, along with several other smaller vendors.  Check our website for the vendors that have confirmed that they will be coming.  Our major vendors will bring your pre-ordered items to you at little or no shipping.  Mann Lake is unable to do this because they fly here, but anytime you spend more than $100 with them, they offer free shipping.

We will have our even larger honey show with Welsh Honey Judges Brutz English from Georgia and our own Lynn Kelton.  The rules for items you can enter will be on the website.

There will be some fabulous door prizes with a total value of about $2,000.   We will also have some great meals at this event.

The most important thing you can do is register early.  We need to know how many are coming, how many to feed, how many chairs, how many name tags, etc.  With an anticipated crowd of over four hundred, we cannot wait until the last minute.  Please register as soon as possible.  The fee for two days is $45 and for one day only is $25.  If you register after September 12th, the fee will be $55 for two days and $30 for one day.

Your registration fee will feed you both days, continental breakfasts; Friday lunch, Friday evening banquet, and Saturday lunch.

We are looking forward to another great meeting and to seeing all of you there.
