The West Virginia Beekeepers Association will host its annual Bee Fair & Honey Show on September 18-19, 2026, in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The event has grown into one of Appalachia’s premier beekeeping gatherings, offering a blend of educational programming, hands-on experiences, industry exhibits, and opportunities for networking among beekeepers of all experience levels.
This year’s educational lineup includes Dr. Maggie Gill of PHIRA-Science, Kaylee Richardson of The Honeystead, Dr. Larry Connor and Andrew Connor of Wicwas Press, Emily Mueller of Mueller Honey Bee, Cordel Bostic of the Food & Farm Coalition, Greg Burns of Nature’s Image Farm, and Dr. Carlos Quesada of West Virginia University, among others.
In addition to classroom presentations, attendees will have access to specialized in-hive instruction led by experienced beekeepers and educators, including Tucka Bee, Sam Comfort, Shanda King, Eric Malcolm, Bob Spencer, and additional instructors to be announced.
A distinguishing feature of the Bee Fair is its emphasis on practical learning. Demonstrations, workshops, and field-based sessions are designed to help attendees translate concepts directly into management practices that can be implemented in their own apiaries.
The event also features a vendor marketplace, where attendees will have opportunities to interact directly with vendors, explore new products, and take advantage of event-specific offerings.
The Honey Show remains a centerpiece of the weekend, highlighting excellence in honey production, beeswax artistry, and hive products.
Beyond honey bees, the event includes programming focused on pollinator conservation, habitat development, youth engagement, and environmental stewardship. Organizers aim to create an environment where both beekeepers and non-beekeepers can learn about the important role pollinators play in agriculture and ecosystems.
