University of Missouri Extension’s newly developed Certified Master Beekeeper program will debut from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 9 at HOMEBANK Hannibal, 3817 McMasters Ave, Hannibal Mo 63461 Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
The “Basic Beekeeping for Beginners” class is for any individual interested in learning beekeeping. There is no minimum age for the program, but children age 12 and younger may find examination questions difficult.
The course costs $61 which includes a beekeeping book. Classes are taught by experienced local beekeepers. Payment can be made the morning of the class on July 9 and can be made by cash or check to Marion County Extension, 100 South Main St. Suite 201, Palmyra MO 63461.
Preregistration is required by July 5 to insure adequate materials for participants. Preregistration can be done by calling Marion County Extension at (573) 769-2177.
