SUMMARY:Michigan Beekeepers Association - Annual Spring Conference
DESCRIPTION:\n\nFriday 03/11/2016 - 03/12/2016\nMICHIGAN\nThe Michigan Beek
eepers Association will hold their Annual Spring Conference on March 11th-
12th\, 2016 at the Kellogg Hotel &amp\; Conference Center at Michigan Stat
e University in East Lansing\, MI. The Michigan Beekeepers Association is
the oldest continually operating honey bee organization in the country\, s

public\, to help one another in maintaining healthy honey bees\, and to e
ncourage more research on honey bees.\n\nOur keynote speaker will be Gary
 Reuter Scientist\, a.k.a. Gary-of-all-trades. A long time hobby beekeeper
and trained in technology education\, Gary began working with Marla when s
he moved to Minnesota in 1993. Without his hard work\, the program would n
ot be what it is today. He maintains the research colonies\, helps train a
nd work with students in the field\, designs and builds specialty equipmen
t and speaks to beekeeping\, student and civic groups. He plans the Extens
ion short courses and together with Marla teaches beginning as well as exp
erienced beekeepers. His humorous style of teaching helps the classes stay
interested and enthusiastic about a sometimes challenging subject. He is
a past president of both Minnesota Hobby Beekeepers Association and Wiscon
sin Honey Producers Association and director of the American Beekeeping Fe
deration\, and remains active in these groups. He still finds time to mana
ge his own colonies\, while learning to blacksmith\, maintaining an orchar
d\, and helping his wife raise sheep.\nMBA will host Jean-Francois Faloppa
