SUMMARY:Illinois - Queen Rearing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Registration at 8:30am.\n\nThis is a one-day queen-rearing work
 shop designed to provide information and hands on instruction for rearing 
 quality queens. Included is instruction on selecting queen genetics as wel
 l identifying desired traits in bees and how to breed for them. Grafting\,
  and non-grafting methods of queen rearing will be covered as well as the 
 use of Cloake Boards and Starter Hives for raising queen cells.\n\nEach pa
 rticipant will take home a grafting tool\, cell bar\, queen cups\, class h
 andouts\, and a copy of “Queen Rearing Essentials” Second Edition by L
 arry Connor.  Participants should have a minimum of two years of beekeepi
 ng experience and should be conversant with queen rearing concepts and ter
 ms such as found in Laidlaw and Paige’s “Queen Rearing and Bee Breedin
 g”\n\nInstructors are Joann &amp\; Pamela Rizkallah of Egyptian Queen Br
 eeders.\n\nCost: $91 non-members\, $61 for IQI members . Registration fee
