DESCRIPTION:The Back Yard Beekeepers Association (BYBA) in Connecticut is p
 roud to present a first-ever live delectable talk and brief culinary prese
 ntation with Chef Patti Jackson on April 23 in Weston. Patti will discuss 
 the historical uses of honey for sweetening\, preservation\, brewing and b
 aking. Special qualities of honey in the kitchen will be covered\, from ch
 emistry of honey to the advantages of using honey in home cooking. She wil
 l cover the celebration and symbolic foods through time and she will inclu
 de recipes and a small cooking demo with snacks following the brief Q &amp
 \; A.\nPatti’s presentation begins promptly at 7:30pm. We suggest arrivi
 ng at 7:00 to allow time to socialize with other like-minded individuals.

 taurateur\, and pastry chef who has worked in New York City for 30 years. 
 Jackson was chef and proprietor of Delaware and Hudson\, in Brooklyn.\n\nA
  proud native of Northeastern Pennsylvania\, she grew up in Clark’s Summ
 it\, a typical American small town. Originally interested in biology and c
 hemistry\, Jackson fell in love with the restaurant business as a teenager
 \, and has pursued all aspects of service and food craft ever since. She i
 s a proponent of seasonal and regional cooking\, particularly of the Ameri
 can Mid-Atlantic.\n\nTrained as a Pastry Chef at the Baltimore Internation
 al Culinary Arts Institute\, Jackson worked for such industry leaders as S
 utton Place Gourmet and the Pino Luongo organization before taking over th
 e restaurant Le Madri as an Executive Chef in 2003.\n\nSubsequently she wa
 s the Executive Chef of the restaurants I Trulli and Centovini in Manhatta
 n. She opened Delaware and Hudson\, which was awarded a Michelin Star 2015
 \, 2016\, 2017\, and 2018.\n\nJackson has been featured in numerous public
 ations and websites\, including the New York Times\, New York Magazine\, T
 he Washington Post\, The Wall Street Journal\, Eater\, The Infatuation\, T
 he Daily Beast\, and others. She has participated in events at the James B
 eard Foundation\, De Gustibus\, No Kid Hungry\, City Harvest\, Taste of Wa
