DESCRIPTION:The Back Yard Beekeepers Association (BYBA) in Connecticut is p
 roud to present speaker Theresa Martin\, author and Master Beekeeper.  Th
 is presentation summarizes several of the tips presented in Theresa’s bo
 ok "Dead Bees Don’t Make Honey: 10 Tips for Healthy Bees"\, which inclu
 des a foreword by Dr. Thomas Seeley describing the book as “remarkable
 … candid\, fact-based\, and sensible.” In this presentation\, Theresa 
 presents the latest science that explains how and why bees survive 14in t
 he wild. By modeling what the bees teach us\, our managed bees can have h
 igher survival and make more honey\, while bringing more enjoyment to the 
 beekeeper.\n\nOur speaker will be joining us IN-PERSON. Please join us at
  7 PM to allow time to socialize and chat with other members of the club.
   Our speaker presentation will begin at 7:30 PM. The location is Norfie
 ld Congregational Church located at 64 Norfield Rd in Weston\, CT. Even t

 om. Theresa will be available to autograph copies of her book which will 
 be available for purchase at the meeting for $18.\nTheresa Martin has achi
 eved 99% colony survival and honey production that is twice the local aver
 age in her seven years as a beekeeper\, with 20–25 colonies in Kentucky.
  She practices nature-based beekeeping\, which is a methodology that place
 s bee health as the highest priority and optimal pathway to productivity. 
 Following the model of how bees survive in the wild\, employing integrated
  pest management\, and providing high support yet low intervention\, she d
 emonstrates that healthy\, alive bees are more productive than sick or dea
 d bees.\nTheresa is a Cornell Master Beekeeper\, 2024 Kentucky State Beeke
 eper of the Year\, and President of the Kentucky State Beekeepers Associat
 ion. She is also a writer for Bee Culture Magazine. She worked at Fidelity
  Investments and Procter &amp\; Gamble in information technology and opera
